View captured moments with our professional scanning service. Slides & negatives to digital or CD!
When scanning slides, photos or negatives, we inspect, clean and then sort the images. We are very careful when cleaning. We do not use chemicals which can harm more than they help, especially on older format negatives. Once the images are ready for scanning, we use a professional quality Epson Perfection scanner using Digital Ice Technology. This builds a record of defects in the image during the scanning process, then uses formulas to rebuild the missing information.
While we do our best to maximise the quality of our photo scanning service, in some cases there is only so much that can be done. After scanning, we use advanced editing software to enhance and balance the scanned images before a final quality check. We use both Digital Ice and editing software in tandem so that our skilled editors have the best possible images to work with. In other words, we do not just rely on computers. Furthermore, we use non-static cotton gloves when we handle all images. In some cases, if we determine that the images are too delicate or too severely damaged, we do not clean them. This is usually the case with medium format negatives, as a result of their advanced age.
We digitise slides, 35mm negatives, medium format negatives and 110 negatives to 2400 dpi, while we scan photos at 1200 dpi. We return all scanned slides, 35mm negatives, medium format negatives and 110 negatives. Also, we include a CD with an original quality scanned folder, and an enhanced quality scanned folder, of each individual image scanned. Furthermore, if requested, we provide a printed copy of the scanned images as part of our photo scanning service.

Disc film to digital
Kodak introduced the disc film format in 1982; a flat circle of film with 15 exposures arranged around the edge. With an extremely small image area, enlargements are not sharp and tend to be grainy. Disc film went out of production by 1999. We charge £30 per disc to scan.
